MEETINGS RESEARCH: Human in the Loop
By Sarah Rothberg
This book documents the 12-10-2024 instantiation of the performance of HUMAN IN THE LOOP, a play in which improvisers enact a real-time generated script based on the personas/conversations of audience members. The title, HUMAN IN THE LOOP, refers to an approach in machine learning where human expertise and input are integrated into the AI system (which... to some extent is always the case).
Each of the 10 cover colorways in the edition (edition of 100) is a unique hand-drawing by the artist. The book is 6" x 8.5" 75-page hardcover, and includes an intro, black&white images from the original performance, pieces of the source-code used to generate the script, and the script that was used in the performance based on the audience present that day.
Sarah Rothberg creates playful, poetic, usually-a-bit-weird experiences that invite you to reconsider your relationship to the world around you. These take many forms: from interactive installation, to performance, video, writing, workshops, and experiments with technology.
