Veil Plate Edition by Wangechi Mutu

  • $195.00

Wangechi Mutu first gained acclaim for her collage-based practice exploring camouflage, transformation, and mutation. She extends these strategies to her work across various media, developing hybrid, fantastical forms that fuse mythical and folkloric narratives with layered sociohistorical references.

The Artist Plate Project, launched in 2020 to benefit the Coalition for the Homeless, has partnered with over 98 world-renowned artists who have created limited-edition dinner plates produced by Prospect. The funds raised by the sale of plates will provide food, crisis services, housing and other critical aid to thousands of people experiencing homelessness and instability.

The Coalition for the Homeless is the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless individuals and families. We believe that affordable housing, sufficient food, and the chance to work for a living wage are fundamental rights in a civilized society. Since our inception in 1981, the Coalition has worked through litigation, public education, and direct services to ensure that these goals are realized. Every day, our 11 frontline programs help more than 3,500 New Yorkers survive immediate crises and put them on the path to long-term stability.
