Darrel Ellis: Regeneration

During his brief artistic life, Ellis created a kaleidoscopically fractured, but hauntingly embracive body of work. Conjuring psychic domesticity from the faded photographs of his dead father’s archive—via a gentle form of photographic necromancy—he connected a complex mix of elements, creating almost hallucinatory images of visual sympathies, family-regeneration, and spirit-resurrection.
