Woman Freedom Now Postcard
by Faith Ringgold
In 1971 she created the Op art–influenced poster Woman Freedom Now, whose composition is organized into triangles, each bearing a word from the title in the Black Power colors of black, red, and green. The repetition of colors and text creates a pulsating visual effect. The graphic work is one in a series of dynamic, vibrant paintings made in an effort to activate the role of Black women in the movement.
4 x 6 inches; made in NYC.
