New Museum Shift Toy The Learning Materials Workshop of Vermont has produced a toy especially for the New Museum. The Shift Toy turns traditional building blocks into an educational tool for open-ended construction, allowing children (and curious adults) to develop new areas of perceptual and aesthetic skills, and of course to explore the world of their imagination. Jewel-like acrylic blocks and prisms can be stacked and arranged within a hardwood tray to create architectural and sculptural forms. Mylar squares featuring images of the New Museum during construction can be sandwiched between the acrylic pieces to produce endless optical illusions. |
