Collectors near and far have long relied on the New Museum Store's comprehensive collection to stay on top of the newest and most important titles in Contemporary Art and to develop the breadth of their professional and personal libraries. Our team of renowned curators- Richard Flood, Laura Hoptman, Massimiliano Gioni, Benjamin Godsill, Gerardo Mosquera, Eva Diaz and Marisa Olson(Rhizome)- and book buyers are able to source the most exciting, and often difficult to obtain, contemporary monographs, texts and visual reference titles internationally from galleries, museums, small publishers, artists and the trade.

Recognizing the need for a Library Service dedicated exclusively to Contemporary Art, and the overwhelming number of customers referring to the New Museum Store to purchase titles for their collections, we launched the New Museum Store Library Service in Spring 2006. With the Library Service, we can bring the expertise, experience, and selection of the New Museum Store directly to you!!!

Our book buyers possess an exceptional knowledge of the field of contemporary art and multiple years of experience. Our book buyers aim to be the most well informed retailers of contemporary art books and DVDs anywhere. Buyers track exhibition schedules worldwide, attend art fairs, read art blogs, read art magazines, and subscribe to industry mailing lists. Each year, a staff member travels to the Frankfurt Book Fair, bringing back many titles before they receive U.S. distribution, if they are distributed in the U.S. at all. The New Museum Store's location in Chelsea and its close relationship to the New York art world ensure its customers unparalleled access to the world of contemporary art. Because of the steadfast labor of its book buyers and its unique position as the retail wing of a world class institution for contemporary art, the New Museum Store maintains the most comprehensive collection of the highest quality contemporary art titles produced today.

Our Library Service is for anyone who is passionate about Contemporary Art -- from librarians to educators, museum professionals, architects, designers, collectors and arts enthusiasts interested in building their collections. To talk about your collection and how we can best help you call us now at 212-219-1222 ext. 211.

The Library Service saves you valuable time and energy by bringing the expertise of the New Museum Store to you in two ways:

Our Customized Approval Plan Program is perfect for busy librarians and arts professionals! Through this program we will work individually with you to complete your Contemporary Art collection. A staff member at the New Museum is exclusively on hand to track and oversee all Customized Approval Plan accounts. We will create a detailed profile of your library and work with you to optimize your holdings according to your budget and desired fulfillment schedule. Unlike many approval plans, there is no minimum to buy and we carefully check each selection against your library's current holdings before shipment. To sign up or inquire about our Customized Approval Plan program, please contact Ceci Moss at cmoss@ newmuseum.org or 212-219-1222 ext. 211. You may alternately complete and submit the form below, and we will contact you.

SLIP PLANS
Under our slip plan, librarians and individuals enjoy the individualized service and attention of a Customized Approval plan without receiving automatic book shipments. Slip plan customers receive a customized list electronically according to their desired fulfillment schedule. These lists are maintained on the New Museum Store website, so customers can easily select and order books direct on the site. Just like the Customized Approval Plan, all lists are checked carefully against each customer's collection using their electronic database. To sign up or inquire about our Slip Plan, please contact Ceci Moss at cmoss@ newmuseum.org or 212-219-1222 ext. 211. You may alternately complete and submit the form below, and we will contact you.
