Pisser (Fountain II)

Pisser (Fountain II)

Item #: 10021174

By Charles Lutz

Pisser is based on the silver Coca Cola bottles that Andy Warhol had made in the 1960s, which were filled with a cheap perfume and then marketed as "You're In"." The name being an intended pun, yet many believed that they had been filled with actual urine. This sculpture is made using the same 1960s era bottles which have been coated in a skin of black rubber, negating its original intent while masking its contents or lack thereof. This time the bottle is left open symbolically, it is a bridge between the artist and Duchamp, where Lutz left it to the view to change the intended use of the object. The bottle can also be broken and still retain its physical space within the skin.
